This is more a Windows question than it is an Ignition question, but I thought I would throw it out there. I have 7 Perspective Clients running on Window 10 Touchscreens. One of the 7 is working as expected. Touch the login, on screen keyboard pops up, and good to go. None of the other 6 will pop the keyboard up. I have had the working machine open side by side with the others, and have compared all settings that I know, but cannot get them working. All the clients are running in Kiosk Mode with Windows Blocked in the My Applications setup. Any help is appreciated.
I believe you need to have Tablet Mode turned on even to get the on-screen keyboard to popup in regular windows… Or there is some magic - but that’s how I’ve always managed it..
Ironically enough the one that is working does not have tablet mode turned on. There is a checkbox buried that says use on screen keyboard when hardware keyboard not available. I have that enabled on all 7. This only adds to my confusion.
Odd. Maybe try turning it off on the others then? assuming it’s on..
My advice is give up on windows touchscreen support. If you search the forum, there are countless posts about how terrible it is and how it hardly works. If you want bulletproof on screen keyboard support, Wayland based Linux with a browser in a Kiosk is the way to go.
Unfortunately this is a customer site and not my decision to make.
But you can pass the advice to the customer, I presume.
Most customers will want to know that reliable kiosks are possible.
