Unable to Delete Objects from Vision Screen

I have just finished installing Ignition Platform version 8.1.48 with Vision Module Version 11.1.48
To test the system I created a new Main window in Vision. I then added a few objects to this Main Window. A label, a numeric entry and a few shapes.

I am unable to delete this objects. I click the object then press the delete key... nothing.
I then right clicked on an object and the "Delete" function is greyed out.
Same thing when selecting an object and going to the Edit tab, the delete function is not active.
What am I doing wrong?

You are likely doing nothing wrong, this is a bug that occurs rarely in the Designer. Close and re-open the Window you are working on and it will likely function correctly again. You can confirm the bug is happening by right-clicking on the components, you will see the Delete (and many other options) as greyed out when you wouldn't expect it.

If you can consistently replicate the issue I would be quite interested in the steps. The only steps (bug-8783) I know of to always cause it are related to the color selector in Vision, if you were using it and right click on certain components it typically causes it.

I have seen the behavior in other areas of the designer though so if you have steps unrelated to the color selector in Vision to replicate the issue I'd be interested.

I reported this awhile back. But i can consistently replicate it by adding an image from symbol factory.

For replication steps of an issue like this, it would need to be specific enough to guarantee it can happen 100% of the time. I don't disagree Symbol Factory likely causes it, but when I added a few images from Symbol Factory in Vision I did not see the issue, so there is likely a more complex process to replicate it. In class I do see it happen the most when we use Symbol factory but more specifically the color menu in Vision.

For example, I can force it to occur in Vision following these steps which we are aware of:

  1. In Vision, select a component with a color property
  2. Click the Paint Bucket icon to open the Color Wheel
  3. Select a color on the wheel and immediately right-click on the same component to see the behavior (then sometimes the behavior will persist)
