Unable to Launch Application

When I try to launch the Designer, I receive a message “Unable to launch the application” with the following details:

I just upgraded to Ignition 7.9 and have Java 6. Please help!

Unfortunately I think you’ll need to upgrade Java to the latest version of 7 or 8.

Alternately, the native client launcher (Homepage, then scroll down) may be able to bypass.

But you really should upgrade.

Ok. I just checked my Java version again and I actually do have version 8. However, when I try to open the designer, I see a Java 6 splash screen.

Sounds like a 32/64 bit issue perhaps. Do you have two different versions of java installed in different bit depths?
