As of May 2nd, 2026, the license associated with the Voice Notification module on 8.3 expired, causing the module to fault upon startup. For those with gateways that have been running since before the expiration date, the module will continue to work, but any gateway restart will cause the module to fault. NOTE: this issue only affects the 8.3 version of the module, 8.1 installations are unaffected.
There is a new version of the Voice Notification module available that has an updated license, but has an expiration of March 30th, 2027. This is a temporary solution while we work with our vendor to provide a perpetual license that doesn't have an expiration. The updated module is included on the latest 8.3 nightly download page, and can be applied to any version of Ignition 8.3.
UPDATE: Investigation is still underway, but it appears Ignition versions 8.3.2 and older don't work with the updated module. We'll send an update as soon as we have more info about a resolution.
Yes, we determined that 8.3.2 and older gateways won't work with the newest Voice Notification module, so if you need it for your deployment you will need to upgrade your gateway to 8.3.3 or newer.
I performed the upgrade to 8.3.7 and it fixed the voice dialing but I have lost all of my historical data. New data is being collected and shows on trends but no previous data.
