Upgrade to new Version 8.3 requirements licenses

I currently have a Standard Ignition License for version 8.1, with multiple modules installed—including Perspective. I’m trying to understand whether I need to renew my Ignition Support subscription in order to upgrade to version 8.3. The licensing and upgrade policies are a bit unclear to me—could someone please clarify? Thank you!

Best to ask your sales person to be sure, but it's generally pretty straightforward: do you have a support contract that has upgrade protection? Basic Care, Total Care, and Priority Care all have upgrade protection by default. I don't even know if you can negotiate that out of it or not.

Yes we have until 1 of October. But we have a question if we have to carry on paying for it. Is it worth it?

I think it is.

(Note that if you haven't maintained support, and need to resume for upgrade, the re-instatement fee can be larger than the fee for the missed years.)

When we had to do a re-reinstatement, it was at 60% of full price. That was several years ago, but your rep can let you know for sure.

As of this writing, Basic Care is at 15% of your purchase price, making it a bit inflation proof.
