Upgrading Versions

I am missing something.

I was running the demo version of 7.09 and upgraded to 7.1 and now the opc tags are not being scanned.

I backed up the project before trying to upgrade.

I upgraded by just executing the Windows installer for 7.1.

The web server is running. The context is running. The devices say they are connected.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the help.

Dennis

Dennis, please give us a call at (800) 266-7798 so we can take the problem. We need more information to figure out why the tags are not updating.

It will be a while. I am tied up on something else.

Earlier upgrades seemed to go without a hitch. The last couple of times I had issues.

Talk to you later.

Dennis

What are the versions of each module in Ignition? You can find these in the gateway config section under Configuration -> Modules.

The OPCUA Server says that it is faulted:

OPC-UA Drivers is 1.09
I’ll swap that out and see if that fixes it.

Dennis

I uninstalled and then reinstalled 7.1.

No errors showed with new naked installation.

I restored a backup taken in the backup/restore section and now there is an error with the opcua connections.

IgnitionOPCUA is faulted. It says Error during ActivateSession:Bad_UserAccessDenied

Another place says:
Error getting endpoint response from url “opc.tcp://localhost:4096/iaopcua

Could this be caused by Windows Firewall?

Thanks for the help.

Dennis

It looks like your username and password are setup wrong. I have a couple things for you to check:

  1. In the module status area of the gateway (localhost:8088/main/web/status/modules) can you check the version number of all your modules and post those here?

  2. In the OPC-UA settings area (localhost:8088/main/web/config/xopc.settings) what authentication profile is set? It should be “opcua-module” with allowed roles “ReadWrite”.

Then in the security > authentication area (localhost:8088/main/web/config/security.auth) you should have a “opcua-module” profile. This profile should have a user called “opcuauser”.

The default password is “password”. In your connection to the OPC-UA server (localhost:8088/main/web/config/opc.connections) you should have the previous username and password specified.

This is all done by default but I suspect by restoring an older gateway backup things are getting a little jumbled.
