When i launch project from designer the component doesnt work. It obviously has something to do with the symbol in the top left. Gateway is set to allow it to be done from client. If i go to preview mode it works fine. I cant click anything in the component from launch project.

That's an overlay. The Quality Codes and Overlays section of the documentation explains that.

you can add remove and edit users roles from preview mode but not when you launch project.

Sounds like an authorization issue.
yep just sorted it, was permissions in the vision section of project properties, hadnt enabled and set authorised roles.
