Step 2 is incorrect:
- Save the file in the Ignition directory:
C:\Program Files\Inductive Automation\Ignition\data\config\resources\core\com.inductiveautomation.perspective\icons
This directory is incorrect. You must save it into a new directory within this file path, with the name of the library you wish to add. E.g. C:\Program Files\Inductive Automation\Ignition\data\config\resources\core\com.inductiveautomation.perspective\icons\library-x
The SVG library must be added into the new library's directory. The SVG can be named anything, although it makes sense to follow along with the naming conventions established in other resources, and naming all library SVGs as something like "library.svg".
Continue on to step 3.
Then step 5 is poorly worded:
- After creating these files, we [you] will need to restart our [your] Designer and Gateway [this is bad and incorrect advice, as mentioned in the next sentence] for the changes to be recognized. If you want to avoid restarting your Gateway, you can use the Scan File System button found on the top right of the Gateway's Platform Overview page to pull in your file changes.
Mentioning that you need to restart the gateway for the changes to be reflected, and then very quickly back-tracking and giving a benign alternative is unecessary. It's like a doctor saying "We need to remove your leg. But if you want to avoid removing your leg, you just need to walk on it a few times a day"
