Is it possible to still have the ability to use embedded pdfs(in windows via the activeX module), while running linux as an IA client?

ActiveX and Linux do not play together, unfortunately. ActiveX is strictly a Windows technology. You can use our pure-Java PDF viewer that comes with the reporting module, but it has deficiencies (only able to reliably view some PDFs).
Is there coming improvements to PDF Viewer for non-Windows platforms, so that it would be possible to show more pdfs than in current version?
There has been some talk of licensing a higher quality 100% java pdf renderer, but nothing concrete as of yet.
