my Vision Clients “randomly” launch additional instances of the project. I haven’t been able to pin point what causes this, but before you know it, i have 3,4, maybe 5 instances open. Any ideas what would be causing this? There is nothing in my project or scripts that says to launch a new instance. This is happening across many projects in different gateways.
Are the end users actually getting new clients starting up? Or is it just showing in the gateway? If the latter, you should investigate your network connections. Breakage can cause existing clients to start new sessions.
Do you mean 3-5 new instances of the whole application, or 3-5 new sessions you're seeing on the backend/gateway?
Or 3-5 new “windows” showing up but still part of the main process? When I do multiple monitor setups, each “window” for each monitor is a desktop and looks like another client in Windows cause there are additional icons in the toolbar, but they’re all part of the same process/session.
I’m getting new additional instances of Vision Client Launcher (the Windows application), launching the same project on the client side. In the tray you see multiple instances of the application. Also I see the additions inside the gateway as additional clients connected.
Only running one project, and one screen. I know what you are saying, if I get a pop up window or something, it shows another icon stacked in the taskbar, but these are unintentional new instances of the project launching.
Only one instance launches at a time. But my operators do not realize at a new instance has launched. We run the project fullscreen. So it goes un-noticed until we have a memory issue from too many sessions launched.
