I am trying to plot some data in a project (lets call it project A) but the data is from a different project (call it project B) which has a different tag provider and different default database. I have confirmed in the designer for project A that I can plot tags with that tag provider. And I have confirmed in the designer for project B that I can plot tags with that tag provider as well. But when I try to plot the project B tags in project A I cannot, no data shows up in the charts. Is there some configuration I am missing? Is this not possible for some reason?
Tags and tag providers are project agnostic, and assuming that these projects are on the same gateway, then the database configuration of the project doesn’t matter.
Are these projects on separate gateways? Other than the tags not being configured correctly, that is the only thing I can think of that would prevent this from working.
I have multiple providers and databases set up and have no issues useing tags from any of them on an Easy Chart component.
When you browse the historical tags from the easy chart pen editor, do you see the alternate database and tag providers?
I hadn’t checked that, but yes they do show up when I browse in the easy chart pen editor. The tag path provided has the gateway name in it which is interesting, hadn’t seen that before.
