I installed the latest version 8.1.44 Maker Edition on windows 8.1 Pro. I installed the latest Designer Launcher. I started the samplequickstart application. Perspective does not show up in the project browser of the designer. I tried reinstalling designer and ignition. I ran designer as an administrator. i tried restarting the perspective module. I checked the logs and all i can see regarding the perspective module is "Starting up module 'com.inductiveautomation.perspective' v2.1.44 (b2024102210)..."
How do i get the perspective module to work?
Can you post a nicely cropped screengrab of Designer's Project Browser window pane?
I suspect Google has dropped support for Windows 8.1 at this point, which means no Chromium in the Designer and no Perspective workspace/module.

So are you saying that Ignition requires Google Chrome for development? Is this the case for all versions of Ignition? I was hoping to evaluate Ignition. I had heard it was platform independent. Is there an older version of Ignition I should download and install that would be compatible with Windows 8.1?
It’s embedded and required for Perspective development. There may be an older version that still supports it but I’m not at my work computer to take a deep dive.
Google dropped it starting with Chrome 110: Sunsetting support for Windows 7 / 8/8.1 and Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 in early 2023 - Google Chrome Community
Windows 8.1 reached end of life in Jan 2023. You should use a supported OS.
Less important, but if you’re evaluating Ignition for commercial use you should not use Maker. The regular version has a 2 hour trial that can be reset indefinitely.
Thanks for the feedback. I was trying to get away with using my old surface tablet at home with Maker. I can spin up a VM on my work PC that will use a supported OS. Thanks.
