Hi all,
We’re working on a SCADA project in Ignition Perspective (version [8.3.10]) and need a search feature that lets operators find a station by its tag path and navigate straight to its view.
Current setup
We’re using the Dropdown component (ia.input.dropdown) as the search box, since its built-in search already handles filtering as the user types. The options are populated by a binding [query / script transform / tag browse] that returns each station’s tag path, for example:
[default]Station1/PS_01/Flow
[default]Station1/RSVR_02/Level
[default]Station2/ET_05/Level
Each option is { "label": <tag path or display name>, "value": <tag path> }. On selection, an onActionPerformed / property change script reads the value and calls system.perspective.navigate() to open the station view.
What we need
The built-in search only does a plain substring match. Operators often know part of the path but not the full structure, so we’d like wildcard support, for example:
Station1*Flowmatches all flow tags under Station1*RSVR*Levelmatches reservoir level tags in any stationPS_0?matches PS_01 to PS_09
Questions
- Is there any way to make the Dropdown’s built-in search support wildcards (
*,?), or extend its matching logic?
Any examples or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
