Windows Server Update Changed INT values to Floats

Ignition Version: 8.3.1
Server: Windows Server 2019 (2026-01)

We had an odd bug this week with our Ignition server after we updated our Windows Server Version from 2025-12 to 2026-01. The Document Tags that I store work center number changed the values from INTs to Floats with the decimal place. I this is a static tag that I use to store data, nothing is writing to this tag updating the values in it.

This caused issues because I need these values as string elsewhere in the code and when the converted string had a “.0” on the tail it broke.

We verified it was the Windows update because both or QA and our Production Server broke with the only change being the server update.

Thanks,

Hmm, if I had to, I’d guess it was the reboot / restart of Ignition that likely accompanied the update, and not anything in the update itself…

We have rebooted our servers at least twice since our upgrade to 8.3 before the windows server update. This didn’t show up until the reboot was accompanied by the server update.
