We bought the Airlink RV50x and the SMS module.
We are having problems to setup it. Is someone using this?
If yes could you share your setup?
Because we tried to follow this instruction below and didn't work.
We are trying to connect the airlink to our network.
We need to set the Airlink IP Address to our network
IP Address: 10.17.224.66
Mask: 255.255.255.192
Gateway: 10.17.224.65
Ignition Address
IP Address 10.17.232.121
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.17.232.1
Note: I can send SMS using PuTTY if the RV50X is connected to a pc, when we switch to the network we can't ping or access anymore.
Those are different subnets. Your network needs to permit UDP packets to travel in both directions between those addresses, without going through any NAT. That is not a typical router/firewall setup, so your firewalls are likely the problem.
Thanks.
In this network, we have a lot of other devices(pcs, servers....) connected and we didn't have any problems.
Maybe there is something I'm doing wrong in the setup.
You should have kept your original thread going instead of starting a second thread on the exact same topic.
As @pturmel mentioned, you're on different subnets, so these networks will need routed and the proper ACLs in place. You can't just change subnet masks to make things work. I don't know if you can get IT to allow you to put the modem on the same network as Ignition, but it would take the firewall out of the equation.
I'm not sure why it wouldn't at least ping if you're on the same network both physical and subnet unless there's a different VLAN on a managed switch isolating the device from other devices.
The Airlink now is in the same Subnet/Mask as Ignition.
In the Ignition server, we can ping and connect to the Airlink.
I still can't send SMS through the ignition, by PuTTY is working normally.
