Is it possible to import tag groups, say from 7.9 scan classes in an upgrade process. If it’s not possible, could this be added as a feature?

Yeah, we’ll definitely make sure to get this handled soon. Tag groups should be exportable/importable as before, and should accept the scan class definition for upgrade.

This issue was fixed in the build uploaded today (4/10).
Normally we have the nightly builds accessible via https://inductiveautomation.com/downloads/ignition, but in the meantime you can find it via this post:

I'm not sure the issue is relative to import only, or tag restart but sometimes blank tag group are added and Default and Default historian tag group disappear from the list.
