Error executing function 'RunQuery'

can anyone shed any light on this error? The chart component works fine in designer with a DB browse binding but the query wont run on the client

The current user does not have the required roles for this operation

This project works correctly in the designer but does not work in the runtime. This is similar to this post: ERROR(500): Error executing function 'RunQuery': The current user does not have the required roles for this operation The problem I’ve encountered is that even after following the listed solution and enabling the permissions, the problem persists.
