IEC61850 Alarm Time Delay

Hi there,

I have configured IEC61850 based alarms for CB position feedback. I am also receiving the timestamp from the IED.

These are both part of a IEC61850 Buffered Report.

My issue is that the status tag updates slightly before the timestamp, (1-2s when viewing in designer). This results in my alarms having the timestamp of the previous change of state.

Adding a time delay to the alarm does not seem to rectify this.

I have included screenshot showing ignition alarm status table, and the Sequential Event Reports as exported from the IED.

Interested to see if anyone has seen this on 61850 or DNP3

  • Trigger alarm based on change of timestamp?

I haven’t used the IEC driver, but I see there’s a setting on the driver under Misc. Advanced Settings related to timestamp source:

Use Report Timestamp : Determines if the timestamp from the report will be used instead of the timestamp associated with each reported value.
