Yeah, not gonna lie, I was a bit sad to see the release date slip. I'm hoping that maybe there were some things that were going to be maybe MVP or not as polished as hoped for 8.3.0 that they decided to just push back the date to get things in an even better place (like maybe redundancy support for the PowerHistorian at release - I think this was mentioned at ICC that it may not be redundancy capable at release).
How is the cooking going? Can we expect 8.3 in April?
"When it's ready".
I know it says Early Q2, but I am still watching this link once or twice a week, just in case.
Maybe it's all a big setup for an April Fool's joke
Hey now, don't spoil the surprise!
It should be clear by now that the only accurate estimate we're capable of is ready or not ready
(not ready)
Maybe they just want to wait for ICC2025 to announce the release.
For legal reasons this is a joke, I don't know anything more about the release date than you do.
Sounds like an optimistic timeline
(Kidding, I also don't know about the release date)
Y'all are mean! How can you deny the puppy dog eyes?
print int(ignition_release_date)
ValueError: cannot coerce boolean to integer
hmm, maybe
print system.date.parse(ignition_release_date)
LTS = Getting to live with your choices for a long time.
Maybe this was discussed elsewhere, but why was 8.3 not just called 9.0? It seems like the platform is overhauled in many ways, with significant changes (based, in part, on how long its taking to release any part of 8.3)
Meh. v7.9 => v8.1 was way worse.
We've been talking about 8.3 for much longer than we've been working on it.
I don't think we began working in earnest until the end of last year, which really isn't long at all for the scope of what we're doing in 8.3.
edit: I don't think that's really true, it just feels that way because things got busier I think
so dev began in earnest at the end of '24, when the final release was supposed to be ready, as announced at ICC 2023?!
Yeah, I'm really just thinking about how things got very busy in the last Q of '24.
My memory is not to be trusted, especially when it has anything to do with time/dates lol
