Even if that is somewhat true, that's pretty shocking to hear - probably not uncommon in the software world but still, seems a bit... meh
I've been digging a little and the 8.3 branch has existed and had active commits for at least all of 2024...
I have a serious memory hole for most of 2024 I guess.
Anyway, if it seems like I'm backtracking - I am.
I made an off the cuff remark that painted an inaccurate picture of what a large team of people have been working on, and I was wrong
At least you weren't confidently wrong and adamant that your memory was correct.
Just how old are you Kevin? (I just turned 58....)
{ Rhetorical question. }
I did just turn 40 in January
thankfully, in ignition 8.3, kevin's memory will be properly organized by the new Power Historian, providing a SQL-like interface to all relevant information,
oh man krazmaz is classic
I always quote "I can tell you stories, I can tell you some stories" and nobody knows what I'm talking about
Gotta start quoting the microservices video instead

I suspect it's coming soon. They have recently pulled the Gold certification exam with a note saying check back in May. I suspect it's being reworked for v8.3, but that's just my own suspicion. If that's the case, you can't really test someone on a version that's not released, so hopefully it's out this month!
They could also just be reworking it since there's going to be a flood of people renewing their gold certification since the 3-year expiration is coming up quickly for everyone certified before that was put in place.
I can semi-authoritatively say that the training department deliberately decoupled certifications from versions, so I wouldn't count on that signal to mean anything other than coincidence.
Do you mean certifications from versions?
(Dang....I was hoping that was a sign!)
Consider binding the expected release date

Gold certification exam with a note saying check back in May
Sorry, Paul is right, this change was actually the website team adding a banner as well as adding the ability to purchase a Gold test from your IA account. Up until recently that was not possible on the account.
The new banner is warning people who are Gold certified that you'll need to wait for the newer test to recertify at Gold. That Gold test rework is almost done, recently the practice test was updated to allow interested parties to prepare for it: Practice Test Prompts | Inductive Automation Training
Maybe there is a hidden sign in there (there is not, this last line is a joke)
