I’m trying to develop a user-customisable mobile app where the user can, on first run, select a few preferences which will then persist on that device until they change them e.g. like using cookies.
On the PC, this can be accomplished using the MAC address or the Client ID tags, however these don’t seem to be able to be used for the mobile clients. I presume this is due to mobile clients actually being run on the gateway itself rather than on the mobile device.
Is it possible to identify a particular user’s mobile device across client sessions? (IP address is not an option)
Also related, is it possible to get the mobile’s GPS coordinates? If not, what is the purpose of the predefined System Client GPS coordinates tags?
