I'm running Ignition perspective version. 8.1. I created a page and view and I'm able to view it when I launch it from the designer. Do I need a separate mobile module installed on the gateway to run the app on a smart phone?

I think you need to supply a lot more information.

  • Are you using the phone's browser?
  • Is the phone on the same network as the Ignition gateway?
  • Can the phone ping the gateway?
  • What is the error message?

How are you launching? From the Page Configuration dialog or do you mean Designer's Preview mode?

No, you don't need any other module or licence apart from a Perspective module licence. You can also test in trial mode. You can either run ignition perspective from a Web browser or via the perspective mobile app

Ok, thanks. I saw in the earlier Ignition manual where you could scan a QR code to load the app and a place in the project properties where you could set mobile additional properties. Couldn't find any of that in my designer.
I downloaded the Ignition mobile demo app from the play store and that works great.

You likely need to open the port on your firewall if youre trying to connect to your gateway on mobile
