I have been unable to get the Report “XY Chart” to show the Pen color on the Legend for the “Line” or “Line w/ Gaps” style.
The Legend Pen color does appear when I use Report Preview, It does not appear when the report is generated as a pdf.
I have gotten the legend to work when using a shape as the style but not my preferred appearance.

The link you cited was resolved in 8.3.1. In that particular case, in Preview, legends would show the line, but the PDF output has an empty box. There was a workaround to that problem: check the Use Raster property.
This looks to be an entirely different problem. Can you provide me with the Ignition version you’re using?
I was on 8.3.0 when I experienced this issue, Yesterday afternoon I upgraded to 8.3.4 which resolved the issue.
